ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK // OCC, Butter London, NARS

We're in the clutch of Autumn and the colour of the season is Orange!
Pumpkins, leaves turning, and cute little berries on wintery walks amongst twigs.
A bright Orange pop is also one of my all time favourite shades so I thought I'd spice up the Autumnal palettes a little bit with a powder blue liner, bright nails and a bold lip colour from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics.

I must admit I've heard a lot of positive noise about the OCC Lip Tars, but I really struggled to get to grips with it at first, however I think I might've mastered it. Lip balm to prime, not applying too much initially to prevent bleeding out of the lip line and allowing time for it to set. I wouldn't say it dries to a complete matte finish; it does still remain slightly sticky and I don't feel completely at ease that it won't bleed, but it's hard to compete against the ultra high pigmentation that I'm seeking.
This colour is called Beta

Next, to match - Butter London's (3 Free) Nail Lacquer in Silly Billy - previously posted about hereAnd upon recently hearing that NARS are fully completely against animal testing, including in their third party suppliers, a playful little tick beneath the eye in their old-y but good-y powder blue (Istanbul) liner finishes it off.

And to top it all off, a couple of tassel earrings made by yours truly to tie in the powder blue and orange-red colour clash - yum.

GO FIGURE // Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick - HOURGLASS

Rich strong pigmentation? Yes.
Wear that’ll last a working day? Yes.
Velvety feel that doesn’t flake, crumble or bleed? Yes.
Simple, sleek packaging that fits snuggly in your palm? Yes.

This is one of my go-to favourite lip colours. It’s smooth liquid-consistency means it’s applied with a stick like a lip gloss as opposed to straight from the bullet, but doesn't feel sticky.

My chosen colours are Riveria (pillar box red) & Muse (vivid pink-coral).

BURGUNDY LIP

US Based brand MELT formed by make up artists Lora & Dana boast a lipstick based on the foundation of being cruelty & paraben free. However, there is one thing to note & that is this particular shade isn't vegan if that's important to you.

The pigmentation is strong - rich, deep & dark - just what I was looking for in the Winter months and the feel is an ultra, powdery matte.

There is a slight downside - for someone that's used to the dreamy, creamy texture that comes from a trusty, vanilla cupcake scented Mac Lipstick - I found it was a little drying. It takes a bit of patience to maintain the right balance of buff, balm & re-application.

This particular shade (6SIX6) is perfect for these current blustery, Wintery months but BANG BANG & SUMMER would be my next go-to shades as Spring starts to show its fresh face.
